Sometimes we hear something over and over, and we think, “Yeah, I got it already!”. We think we do, and we are tired of hearing it over and over. But, in reality, we don’t. We hear it, but it hasn’t really sunk in. We don’t make the changes that it should inspire us to make. Then, maybe after about the 100th time of hearing it,(and maybe rolling our eyes}, someone says the very same thing, but in just the right way. Suddenly, it clicks! And we think “Wow, so that’s what that means!”.

A few examples of this are:

  • The obstacles in your path are actually your stepping stones to your future.
  • Use the challenges you face to show you the area you need to improve upon.
  • Don’t use your excuses as reasons for not doing something. Instead, use your excuses as reasons WHY you SHOULD do it.

These things are always going to be there, but it’s up to us to decide how we are going to use them. We can let them deter us from the life we want, or we can use them to fuel our journey to the life we desire. It is entirely up to us how we use them. We are the ones in control.

You want to build your business, and create the life you want for yourself and your family, but you tell yourself things like:

  • I’m too tired from working all day.
  • I don’t have enough time to pursue my dreams.
  • I don’t have enough money to invest in myself and my dreams.

In reality, all of these things you are telling yourself are reasons you CAN’T do this, are actually the very reasons why you SHOULD do this!

They are the reasons you need to change your mindset and your world.

Change your mindset, change your world!

Until next time!

Kelli

  1. “ I’m too tired from working all day.
I don’t have enough time to pursue my dreams.
I don’t have enough money to invest in myself and my dreams.”

All excuses!! We simply cannot let these obstacles stop our momentum.

  2. The reason you can’t is the reason you should! This is a fantastic mantra!
I have got to get me a mug with that on!

This is such a simple yet powerful message,

    Thanks.

  3. YES! I found myself nodding my head as I read your first paragraph. I was so here not that long ago. Hearing the same lessons about mindset, discipline, patience, and consistency. Thinking duh, I know this. I thought I had the right mindset, and I was doing what I was supposed to, but I wasn’t. When it clicks, and you get it, everything changes, but everyone has to get there at their own pace. Love your blog post!!!

  4. Hi kelli
You must be talking about me.
I’m reading your post and I’m saying yup that’s me exactly..
And this: In reality, all of these things you are telling yourself are reasons you CAN’T do this, are actually the very reasons why you SHOULD do this!
Needs to be posted on my wall to look at all the time.
Great post… Can’t wait to here what you have to say next week.

  5. Hi Kelli,

Self-talk is so important when starting or maintaining any business. It can make or break the whole process. That’s why it’s so important to listen to or read positive messages from successful people about how they have overcome weaknesses in their thought processes. Negative self-talk is detrimental in any form and in any situation, and it can turn into self-loathing. You would need to introduce three times the amount of positive affirmations to deflect the negative thoughts. Wonderful post and so very helpful!!

  6. “In reality, all of these things you are telling yourself are reasons you CAN’T do this, are actually the very reasons why you SHOULD do this!”

This is a great statement. So true. It can be difficult to make the time and motivate ourselves, but a little sacrifice now can get us the rewards we really desire.

  7. Hi, Kelli!
I can relate to the feeling that when I’m tired from working all day, I can’t work on my business.
But, of course, that’s why I need to work on my business. I don’t need to be that wiped out at the end of the day.
I need a job that energizes me and gets me excited.
I need to work when I’m tired so that someday life can be different.
    Thanks for reminding me,
    Nakina

  8. This is so on point! Self-talk can help or hurt us depending on if it is negative or positive! I completely agree that mindset may be the most important thing to make an online business work!

  9. Klli,
sometimes, a message resonates only after multiple exposures, hitting home when presented differently. Common sayings like “obstacles as stepping stones” or “excuses as reasons to act” often require fresh perspectives to truly sink in. However when embracing challenges; they can be catalysts for growth and transformation.
I agree, It’s all about mindset
Keep training your mind for success.

  10. Kelli, thanks for this. Great advice. This shows that we are our own worst enemy. How we talk ourselves out of things. It’s all about having a growth mindset. We need to think about how we can do things rather than why we can’t. Just those small changes make such a difference in your life. Well done until next time. Thanks, Atif

  11. The examples you provided—viewing obstacles as stepping stones, using challenges to identify areas for growth, and reframing excuses as motivations for action—serve as powerful reminders of the transformative potential inherent in our mindset.
Too often our perceptions and beliefs shape our reality and determine our path forward.
    Thank you

  12. Kelli,
Absolutely! “Change your mindset, change your world” rings so true. It’s amazing how sometimes, hearing something repeatedly doesn’t quite click until that one extra time or a different perspective hits home. That’s when the light bulb goes off, and we’re propelled into understanding and making the changes we need.

    1. Sherri,
Yes! Thanks for your comment! I have been a bit out of the loop for a few days. Lots going on. Trying to get back into it! MUST get back to it!
